Our stay at the Royal Hotel was excellent, and if I return to Chilliwack, I'll be staying there again. It's an older building done in a classic style, with small but cozy rooms. What really makes the Royal Hotel stand out isn't the decor, but the amazing service. Everyone we talked to from the front staff to the restaurant staff were friendly and helpful, and eager to assist. Each stay comes with breakfast, and they were big and delicious. It was quiet and very accommodating. We had multiple large groups with dietary restrictions and allergies and we were all able to be fed, and to have relaxing sleeps. As well, when we had to modify our reservation, they were very accommodating.
Accidentally called this hotel while trying to find a place to stay after driving from Alberta to BC. What a happy accident.When you first walk in you're immediately got with the smell of ancient wood, telling you that this hotel has been around. It's wonderful.The room was clean, cool, and spacious. The traditional metal keys were a great change from fussy key cards that might demagnetize if you put them too close to your wallet.Complimentary breakfast was amazing; pancakes the size of plates! I'm a bottomless pit of hunger ans couldn't finish them!The Royal Hotel is not a modern hotel. But if you're looking for a clasaic hotel experience, it's definitely a great hotel.Next time we do a long road trip, we're staying here in the way home. (But we'll book ahead next time!)
If you are looking for a great and affordable experience you will want to stay here. My husband and I stumbled across this hotel in our frantic search for a place to stay. Our search started in Vancouver and we ended up here. I say everything happens for a reason. This is a cute and quaint little hotel. The staff was always super helpful and very inviting. For booking last minute and taking there last room available the price was fair. They include a great breakfast for you when you stay. The only complaint I had was the mattress on the bed needed replaced. You could feel every spring through it. We didnt mind as we had spent over 24 hours in the car to get to Canada and just needed a place to stay for a couple of nights. Thanks for the experience and the great service.
My stay at this hotel was lovely. The room was very nice. They make even small details pretty. The breakfast provided was great. The "Classic cowboy" is large, and was done well. Also they have actual keys. Which I thought was a nice detail. The only complaint that I have was the loud music from either the pub downstairs or a bar nearby. But, it detracted from my ability to get to sleep.
Asked the lady at the front desk if it was haunted (just got the vibe, especially being all wood and a very rustic look to it) and she said there had been reports. Great price, decent room. Was super tired so sleeping on the ground would have been possible let alone the bed. The bathroom was decent, older fixtures. I emphasize rustic and older.
