What a dump! From the carpets in the hallway to the rooms. I made them change my room because as soon as I walked in the room I could see how nasty it was. The couch was filthy and broken so I went to call the front desk but the phone didn't work. The phone was also so filthy I almost puked. The second room was better but after the first room I did want to touch anything. Needless to say I was booked for two nights but only stayed one. Also a great place if you want your vehicle broken into. There was no shortage of crack heads hanging around the place. I wouldn't pay $40 to stay there let alone another $100 plus!
Pros: The room is comfortable and well organized. Reception staff is helpful. There is one coin-operated washer and one coin-operated dryer in the building. Dogs are permitted, for an extra fee per night.Ample parking. Just off the highway. Cons: house-keeping is very frustrating! They do not do all the usual tasks everyday unless explicitly asked to; saying that you want everything done is insufficient, you must itemize. If you do itemize what you want done, they only do half of what you ask. Housekeeping is done anytime between 10am-6pm which is fine if you are out for the day anyway but makes it very difficult to have quiet work time in your room during the day and/or to calm an anxious dog.No elevator in a two storey building. The room is not well insulated. But the amount of heat that seeped in from the (closed) window was noticeable and significant. We were there in the heat of the summer so just cranked the AC. But, I would definitely not have been happy sleeping close to the window in the winter.
The room originally offered had blood drop stains on the carpet by the bathroom door way. The carpet was torn and majority stained. The room smelled like the roads on east hastings. ( old urine) that was the first floor. I get the feeling those rooms are the discounted ones or the ones they rent by the month. I requested a new room . The carpet was normal and the new room smelled clean. Both rooms have cleanliness problems. There are long curly hairs in the tub in the new room. Exact furnishings. Why do they have some nasty rooms and some nice normal rooms!!??
We got in late, the check in employee was really good. Room was dated but bed was comfortable. The in room coffee was great.. Weird how it is called Eco Coffee yet the cups were still wrapped in single use plastic. Delicious though.
Rooms were nice. Beds comfortable and rooms clean. Location was easy to find with IHOP attached. Hot tub was hot pool was very cold. Is a pet friendly place and the staff were courteous and professional. We enjoyed our night there. Thanks travelodge!!
